JR's Contribution (AFTERPARTY v2)

This is a page explaining my contribution to AFTERPARTY v2. This page, and the page for my collaborator, exists so that by putting all pages in a bundle, we can receive equally split payment for our work (itch does not currently support any other form of profit sharing). The game document itself is on the AFTERPARTY v2 page, and can be downloaded there after purchasing the bundle.

 So what did I bring to the table? 

In 2020, I was approached by Jack Owen, a producer for WAVE productions at Northwestern University, who asked me if I would be open to working as a game designer for a new production. Working together with lead artist Rook Feld, we created six original game poems meant to be played entirely over Zoom.

Two years later, Rook approached me again with the idea of adapting these game poems, the original content of AFTERPARTY, into a PDF for release on itch. Rook and I worked to rewrite, reformat, and, in some cases, reimagine AFTERPARTY to work in an in-person, GM-less setting. While Rook handled the art and formatting for the final PDF, I worked to rewrite and condense the games to fit the new format. The end result is the new-and-improved AFTERPARTY v2, a project I love and which I am very proud to have been a part of.
